7-10-14 fdl heroin overdose case

A Milwaukee man accused of supplying the heroin that led to the death of a Fond du lac man has been denied a request  to die in a hospice center.   At a hearing in Fond du Lac County Circuit  Court this week the attorney for 56 year old Reginald Dorsey said Dorsey has terminal cancer and requested bail be modified so he can be moved to Hospice.  The attorney also made a motion to dismiss the reckless homicide charge against Dorsey.  Judge Dale English denied both motions.  Dorsey is the second person charged in the case.  Forty nine year old Jeffrey Abitz of Lomira is scheduled to go on trial in December on charges of party to the crime of reckless homicide.   District Attorney Eric Toney says both Dorsey and Abitz are charged under the Len Bias law, name after the late college basketball Star who died of a cocaine overdose more than 30 years ago.  Dorsey is  accused of supplying the heroin that led to the death of a Fond du lac man two years ago and investigators say Abitz drove the car.
