A Fond du Lac resident who has climbed some of the tallest mountains in the world faces his biggest challenge next spring. Andy Land is in training now to climb Mt. Everest next March through May. Land says he is on a mission to raise awareness and money for hospice education in Wisconsin. Land is the director of the Hospice and Palliative Care Services, at Agnesian Health Care. Land made the announced Wednesday at a a kickoff at the Fond du Lac YMCA, where he is training. The cost of the $40,000 epic journey has been covered so every dollar raised in the Climbing for Hospice campaign will go toward educating the public about hospice in Wisconsin and training hospice staff and volunteers in the ever-changing and highly regulated hospice services and programs.
