7-24-14 governor’s race-approval rating

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — After weeks of negative attack ads against Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke, a new poll shows that roughly the same percentage of voters have a favorable view of her as those who don’t.  But Marquette University Law School poll released Wednesday shows Gov. Scott Walker’s approval ratings dropped from 47 percent favorability to 45 percent in May. In the latest poll, 47 percent of respondents say they have an unfavorable view of Walker.  The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.  The poll also shows that 49 percent of voters say they either don’t have an opinion about Burke or haven’t heard enough about her to form one.   The poll of 804 registered voters was done between July 17 and Sunday.
