8-1-14 wi unions-right to work

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican state Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says he does not intend to pursue making Wisconsin a right to work state next session.  Vos spoke Thursday after the state Supreme Court upheld the 2011 law known as Act 10, which effectively ended collective bargaining for most public workers.  Vos says he remains a backer of right to work, but he does not think this is the time to try it in Wisconsin.  Both Vos and Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald say they don’t know whether the Legislature next year will try to expand Act 10 to cover police and firefighters.
