Man bound over for trial in High Speed Chase Case

A Neenah man arrested for speeding the wrong way on Highway 41 in Fond du Lac County is bound over for trial.   Twenty seven year old Adam Baurain waived his preliminary hearing on charges of first degree recklessly endangering safety and eluding an officer.  Fond du Lac County sheriff’s captain Rick Olig says the incident happened early Saturday morning, July 20th when the Sheriff’s Office received several calls stating there was a southbound vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed in the northbound lane of Hwy 41 at Lone Elm Road.  Deputies located the vehicle and attempted to stop the vehicle, which was still traveling southbound in the northbound lane of Hwy 41 north of Winnebago Street in the town of Friendship. The vehicle reached speeds of 103mph, forcing traffic to take evasive movement to avoid a head-on collision.  Deputies deployed stop sticks at Hwy 41 and Johnson that did not stop the vehicle.  The chase continued with the driver still traveling southbound in northbound lane.  Fond du Lac County Deputies were able to deploy second set of stop sticks in Washington County. The vehicle became disabled at Hwy 41 south of Hwy 28 in Washington County and Baurain was taken into custody.  The distance was 22 miles
