Sheriff’s Office Announces Narcotics Anonymous in Dodge County Detention Facility

The Dodge County Detention Facility has initiated implementation of a Narcotics Anonymous Program. Narcotics Anonymous is a non-profit, global organization founded in 1953 whose purpose is to help people and offer them the support they need to get off and stay off drugs.
For years the facility has assisted inmates and detainees in dealing with alcohol addiction by implementing alcohol withdrawal/detoxification protocols as well as offering Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
With the continuing widespread use of illegal opiates and narcotics in Dodge County, the facility recognized the need to offer assistance to those addicted to other substances besides alcohol.
The program is initially being offered to the female population of the facility. The first meeting was held on August 3rd, and Sheriff Pat Ninmann says officials were very pleased to see that 15 female inmate/detainees attended the meeting; over 50% of the female population at the time. Officials are in the process of identifying volunteers to conduct meetings for the male population and anticipate that the program will continue to grow.
