8-22-14 wi governor-investigation

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal appeals court has decided to unseal more documents in a secret investigation into Gov. Scott Walker’s campaign.  Prosecutors have been looking into whether Walker’s 2012 recall campaign illegally coordinated with conservative groups on advertising and fundraising. One of the groups, Wisconsin Club for Growth, has convinced a federal judge to put the probe on hold, arguing the investigation violates its free speech rights.  The prosecutors have asked the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals to let them re-start the probe.  The court has already released 266 pages of documents tied to the probe.  On Thursday the court ordered more documents released, but it wasn’t immediately clear how many.
