The Fond du Lac County executive says a preliminary budget does not contain any cuts in programs or staff. The county finance committee held a preliminary discussion on the 2015 county budget at their meeting this week. “We have a good wellness program, its been very successful, we’re budgeting a zero increase on our medical insurance again,” Buechel told WFDL news. “…the fourth year in a row we’ve been less than one percent.” Buechel says there are number of economic factors that are impacting the budget. “Economic growth has changed, it has been positive. For the first time in four years we have an increase in our equalized value, and new construction is now back over one percent.” Buechel says some of that is due to manufacturing expansion at Mercury Marine and Alliance Laundry of Ripon.
