The Fond du Lac Transit system is gearing up for back to school. Transit manager Lynn Gilles says this Friday Festival Foods and Fond du lac Area Transit are sponsoring a Free Fare Day. You can ride the city bus all day Friday for free. Gilles says it’s a great day to plan your child’s route to school. “We do a lot of the transport of kids to the schools, especially to the high school, high volumes of kids to the high school,” Gilles told WFDL news. Fond du Lac Area Transit met with school officials and representatives of the Boys and Girls Club and Johnson School bus last week to talk about disseminating correct route information and to continue to communicate effectively. “We meet annually to go over routes, beginning and end times of school to make sure we are all there at appropriate times. We also focus on expected behaviors,” Gilles said.
