New election equipment, land for a new highway garage and a major road reconstruction project. Fond du Lac County executive Al Buechel says those are the highlights in the first year of a five year capital improvement Buechel says the most expensive project next year is reconstructing a portion of Highway I west of Highway 41 near Eldorado. Buechel says money is also earmarked next year to purchase land for construction of a new county highway garage. Buechel says the county’s election equipment is also in need of an overhaul. The county has budgeted $400,000 in 2015 to upgrade election equipment. The county finance committee discussed the possible projects for next year at a meeting last week.
