A discarded cigarette is apparently to blame for a fire that caused some damage to the upper unit of a Fond du Lac duplex. Firefighters were called to the residence at Military Road and Second Street around 3pm Sunday where smoke was visible from the attic. Fire Chief Pete O’Leary tells WFDL news on the scene everyone inside the house got out safely. The house is located across the street from the YMCA. Police blocked off portions of Mlitary and Second Streets.
