9-29-14 oakfield under water boil order

The village of Oakfield in Fond du Lac County is under a boil water restriction until further notice.  Residents are being asked to discard any ice, food, and beverages prepared with unsafe water. Water should be boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, food preparation and making ice.  The boil order was issued after Oakfield Waterworks experienced a loss of water pressure at the water tower.   Fond du Lac County Health Officer Kim Mueller said the system is being chlorinated as a precaution and the advisory should be lifted as soon as water samples come back clear.  Water must be heated to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use.  Ice should be made from boiled or bottled water.
