10-9-14 elections board-assembly speaker

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Scott Walker isn’t saying whether he supports a call from Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos to fire the head of the state’s elections board and reorganize the agency.  Walker said Wednesday that the issue is not a priority and it was “not even on my radar.”  Vos on Tuesday said that Government Accountability Board director Kevin Kennedy “must go.” Vos says the GAB “is dysfunctional, it is unresponsive, and it is totally undemocratic.”  Vos is particularly upset with a newly redesigned model ballot the GAB released this year, which he challenged unsuccessfully in court.  The nonpartisan board consists of six former judges. Kennedy serves as director and leads a staff that overseas both elections and ethics issues.
