10-13-14 high speed chase suspect bound over for trial

A Cudahy man has been bound over for trial in connection with a high speed chase that ended in a crash in Fond du Lac.  Twenty eight year old Michael Connerton waived his preliminary hearing Friday on charges of  recklessly endangering safety and eluding an officer.  The August 5th chase started when a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on Highway 45 near Eden.  Cudahy police had reported the suspect may be suicidal.  The chase ended when a sheriff’s deputy squad sideswiped the vehicle, pushing it into a parked car.  Another squad hit the car when the suspect’s vehicle attempted to pull ahead.  The two squad cars received minor damage.  Connerton and a passenger were taken into custody at gunpoint.   Connerton remains in jail on $25,000 cash bond.
