10-16-14 burke distances herself from doyle policies

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke is attempting to distance herself from former Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle, whom she worked under for nearly three years as Commerce Department secretary.  Burke said she did not agree with tax increases approved by Doyle, or his raiding money from the state transportation fund to pay for schools.  Gov. Scott Walker has attempted to tie Burke to Doyle throughout the campaign, saying a win for her would amount to a third term for Doyle.  Burke says she talks infrequently with Doyle, less than once a month, and only a few times since she got into the race.
