Agnesian HealthCare will soon begin construction of a new facility to replace its existing clinic on Margaret Street in Markesan and its retail pharmacy on Bridge Street.  Construction work will begin in October on 1.3 acres of land on Highway 44/Margaret Street in vacant land across from the post office. The new facility, just over 6,000 square feet, will house Punit Kumar, MD, internal medicine physician, and Amanda Dickerson, APNP, as well as the Agnesian Pharmacy team currently serving the Markesan community.  The new facility will face Highway 44 with a pharmacy drive-thru window on the building’s south side. There will be one common entrance to both services with separate waiting areas. Plans call for providers to relocate to this new location by early fall 2015.   It will feature three exam rooms, a procedure room, a waiting room with special children’s area and accessible parking, as well as a full-service pharmacy.  The Fond du Lac Regional Clinic in Markesan also offers on-site laboratory services. The clinic is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Patients of all ages are welcome.  The Agnesian Pharmacy Markesan offers a full line of pharmaceutical services. It offers pharmacist consultations, with the new pharmacy offering a private area for this opportunity.  Agnesian HealthCare is working with Zimmerman Architectural Studios for the building’s architectural work, and has selected C.D. Smith Construction as the general contractor for the $2.35 million project.    “This new clinic will provide us with continued opportunities to expand our healthcare services to Markesan and surrounding area residents,” says Steve Little, Agnesian HealthCare president and chief executive officer. “The Markesan community itself continues to grow, and we want to be positioned to serve its growing needs through a more modern facility which reflects today’s current medical practices.”
