10-21-14 early voting-lafollette

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Secretary of State Doug La Follette says he voted early and hopes others will too.  In-person absentee voting started Monday in Wisconsin.  La Follette says he went to vote in Madison at 8 a.m. but found 30 people in line. La Follette says voted during his lunch hour.   The Democrat is running for re-election against Republican Julian Bradley. La Follette has served as secretary of state for most of the past 40 years.  He says he has been talking to people about the importance of voting in midterm elections and letting them know they can register at the polls and don’t need a photo ID.  Both parties are focusing on turnout this year in an effort to win close governor’s and attorney general’s races.
