10-22-14 chilton farmer placed on probation for selling snow goose sausage

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal judge has ordered a Chilton game farm owner to serve five years’ probation and pay $5,000 in fines for selling snow goose sausages. Fifty-year-old Todd Doughty, owner of the Thunderbird Game Farm, killed hundreds of snow geese in Nebraska in 2007. He brought the birds back to Wisconsin and sold 53 pounds of goose sausage in May 2010. Investigators also purchased sausage products made of venison, snow geese, duck or a mixture of all three.
