11-7-14 campbellsport school referendum

A community survey indicates a major building referendum in the Campbellsport School District as initially proposed would be a tough sell.  The survey shows only 41 percent of respondents indicated they would likely support the $35 million project.  District  administrator Paul Amundson says the district has been studying the issue for over two years.  He says the major portion of the plan is replacing the portion of the building that was built in the 1930s. “I believe that the survey means $35 million is too much,”  Amundson told AM 1170 WFDL’s Between the Lines program.  “The next question is how much is right?”    Amundson says the hope is to develop a plan that could go to referendum in April.   The survey found 88 percent believe Campbellsport schools play a significant role in promoting the community and 82 percent were satisfied or very satisfied with Campbellsport schools.
