The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents about a phone scam that has surfaced this week involving someone impersonating a sheriff’s sergeant. Sheriff’s Lieutenant of Detectives Cameron McGee says two people filed complaints this week that they had received a call from a person who identified himself as a sergeant Young with the Fond du lac County sheriff’s office and that they had a warrant for their arrest. Sheriff Mick Fink says nobody by that name works for the sheriff’s office. He says the caller asks the person to get a pre-paid credit or debit card to pay the bond so the warrant will be quashed. Fink says if you get a suspicious call like this hang up and report it to the sheriff’s office.
