11-10-14 winter parking restrictions

Grab your hats, gloves, coats, and boots as the winter weather season is fast approaching! During this transitional time of year,The City of Fond du Lac Police Department and the Department of Public Works is taking this opportunity to remind the members of the community that the WINTER PARKING RESTRICTIONS go into effect on November 15th.

Parking from November 15th to March 15th is restricted

between the hours of 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.

On EVEN NUMBERED DAYS, starting at 8:00 p.m. parking is restricted to the EVEN side of the street. On ODD NUMBERED DAYS, starting at 8:00 p.m. parking is restricted to the ODD side of the street.  Any METERED AREA is still restricted to 60 minutes between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.  This ordinance overrides all other on-street parking restrictions where parking is allowed.  Here is a quick example to help clarify: On November 15th at 8:00 p.m. you are to park on the ODD numbered side of the street, even if that side of the street states “No Parking on this Side.”    Also, with the winter season comes the numerous holiday celebrations that many people choose to participate in. Please remember to inform your visiting guests and family of the parking restriction, as we do not wish to dampen the holiday cheer with a $20.00 parking ticket.  If you have any questions please call the shift commander at 322-3710.  Cooperation with these restrictions is very important. They allow the City’s snow plows to effectively clear streets when it snows.
