A former Waupun police lieutenant accused of going on a multicounty burglary spree has been sentenced in a car theft case. A Barron County Judge placed 45 year old Brad Young on three years probation for stealing a car in Barron County in August 2013. The judge imposed and stayed a six-year prison sentence and ordered Young to pay restitution and court costs, obtain counseling and participate in a restorative justice According to a criminal complaint Young burglarized a Green Lake restaurant and fled in a stolen pickup truck, leading police on a chase before crashing the vehicle and stealing another vehicle. Young is also suspected in a rash of burglaries in multiple counties including Fond du Lac.
