Chilton residents Dennis Brannon and Jody Kalinka are the lucky winners of the million dollar prize from the January 31st Powerball drawing. Their winning ticket matched the five regular numbers but not the Powerball. Brannon works at Fond du Lac’s Giddings and Lewis. Both say it hasn’t had a chance to sink in yet. “We were just one of the lucky ones,” Brannon said. A press conference was held Monday afternoon at Korneli’s Prairie Express on East Johnson Street where the winning ticket was sold. Store owner Steve Korneli says its exciting. “We’re really glad to see another big winner in Fond du Lac,” Korneli told WFDL news. Korneli’s receives a $20,000 commission check for selling the winning ticket. The couple plans to split the winnings. After taxes they will each take home a little less than $337,000.
