3-28-15 wi exams

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The English language arts portion of the Badger Exam that was scheduled to be given to students in grades 3-8 across Wisconsin as soon as Monday has been delayed by two weeks.  The state Department of Public Instruction said Thursday that the company contracted to provide the online test notified the state on Wednesday that it could not deliver the exam as promised by Monday.  State Superintendent Tony Evers calls the delay “incredibly frustrating,” but says Educational Testing Services has been told it must deliver a working exam by April 13th.  That is when schools can start to administer the math portion. Schools have until May 22nd to complete both portions, but DPI officials say more time may be allowed.  The test is being given to comply with federal law.
