4-1-15 fdl man convicted in shooting incident gets long prison term

A Fond du Lac man convicted in a shooting incident is going to prison.  At a hearing Tuesday afternoon Fond du Lac judge Peter Grimm sentenced 23 year old James Tucker Junior to 11 years in prison followed by six years extended supervision.  Fond du Lac police chief Bill Lamb is satisfied with the sentence.  “We’re very pleased with the sentence, we commend the court,”  Lamb told WFDL news.  “This was one of two shooting instances that occured that same weekend.  The other defendant was sentenced last week to a four year prison sentence.”   Lamb says he hopes the sentence sends a message that this type of behavior will not be tolerated in Fond du Lac.  Tucker had earlier  pleaded no contest to reckless injury.  Charges of attempted homicide and aggravated battery were dismissed and read into the record.   Police say Tucker shot at another man outside an apartment complex last September injuring a 19 year old Chicago man.  Police say Tucker fired multiple rounds with one bullet striking the victim in the leg.
