4-27-15 right to work law lawsuit

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State attorneys are asking a judge to toss out a lawsuit challenging Wisconsin’s right-to-work law. The Wisconsin AFL-CIO, Machinists Local Lodge 1061 in Milwaukee and United Steelworkers District 2 in Menasha filed a lawsuit last month in Dane County Circuit Court alleging that the law amounts to an unconstitutional seizure of union property since unions now must extend benefits to workers who don’t pay dues. Attorneys with the state Justice Department filed a motion Friday asking Judge William Foust to dismiss the lawsuit.
