4-29-15 fdl school teacher retirements

The Fond du Lac school board has accepted another round of teacher retirements effective at the end of the school year.  School officials say the seven teachers have a combined 186 years of teaching experience.  Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says in total nearly two dozen school district personnel will be retiring after this school year.   “Prior to 2011 we would have five to 10 (retirements) generally speaking.   Then 2011 Act 10 came in and we had a large number, there was some anxiety,”  Sebert told WFDL news.  “We’ve got large batches of people, for example our 25 year awards dinner coming up next Monday, we have 31 members that have been in district 25 years.”   Sebert says he doesn’t anticipate many more, if any additional retirements announced before the end of the school year.
