5-29-15 authorities say kewaskum woman suffered medical condition prior to crash

Kewaskum authorities believe a medical condition was the cause of a one vehicle traffic accident in which the driver subsequently died. On Sunday night, emergency personnel were dispatched to the Kewaskum Citgo on Fond du Lac Ave, for a traffic accident where a vehicle left the roadway and struck the sign of the business. Upon arrival, the driver of the vehicle, a 22 year old Kewaskum woman, was unresponsive.   Kewaskum Police Chief Tom Bishop says life-saving efforts performed on the driver were unsuccessful. A passenger, a 22 year old Campbellsport woman, was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries and released.  Bishop says it appears that a medical issue with the driver led to the accident, and that neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to be factors in the crash. It also appears that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.
