7-28-15 state lawmaker proposes child sex offender relocation legislation

A Republican lawmaker from Beaver Dam says he plans to introduce legislation regarding the placement of dangerous child sex offenders.  Representative Mark Born says he wants to make sure a situation that happened in the town of Leroy doesn’t happen again.  “We think its a situation that things didn’t go the way they should  and we have concerns about their policies and procedures,”  Born told WFDL news.  The Department of Health Services ordered the placement of two dangerous sex offenders at a house near another residence where two young children live.  Born says the problem is the area is relatively isolated.  A Dodge County circuit judge held a hearing last week on the placement of one of the sex offenders and ordered the offender returned to the Sand Ridge Treatment facility.  A hearing on a second offender living at the same residence will be held next month.
