7-29-15 packer president says team won’t sell naming rights to lambeau field

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — The president of the Green Bay Packers says the team won’t sell the naming rights to Lambeau Field under his watch. Mark Murphy says it doesn’t make sense to put a corporate tag to the name of the historic stadium. Murphy made his remarks during the franchise’s annual shareholders meeting on Tuesday at Lambeau. Stadium naming rights have become a lucrative revenue stream for professional sports teams. One of the NFL’s most popular and successful teams said last week it had another banner financial year in 2015 with $375 million in revenue.
