Hundreds of job seekers met 75 regional employers with 1,000 job openings during the Fox Valley Career Expo.   The expo was held Wednesday at the Fond du lac County Fairgrounds Expo Center.  Many local workforce agencies volunteered at the event, which was coordinated by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) in partnership with the Fox Valley Workforce Development Board, Fox Valley Technical College and Moraine Park Technical College.  “Hundreds of prepared job seekers attended the Fox Valley Career Expo to gain exclusive access to hiring managers for employers throughout the region,” said DWD Assistant Deputy Secretary Dave Anderson, who attended the event. “This premiere workforce recruitment event will move the economy forward by helping businesses fill 1,000 good-paying, entry level to advanced career opportunities across many industries.”   Unlike most traditional job fairs, Career Expos are open only to employers with current job openings and job seekers who are pre-screened for work readiness in advance.  Registered businesses included Agnesian Healthcare, Alliance Laundry Systems, Ameriquip Corporation, Aurora Health Care, Bemis, Charter Communications, Kohler, Kwik Trip, Mercury Marine, Michels Corporation, Quad/Graphics, Sargento Foods, Schneider National, Walmart Logistics and 4Imprint.   The Fox Valley Career Expo offered jobs in high demand fields, such as health care for entry level through advanced positions, including registered nurses with wages from $45,000 to $65,000 a year, manufacturing with positions starting at $11 to $20 per hour, customer service and sales with good-paying positions across industries ranging from $11 to $16 per hour, and transportation for commercial truck drivers with annual wages starting at $50,000.
