7-30-15 washington county near drowning

A 6 year old boy was taken to the hospital after nearly drowning at a Washington County park Tuesday evening.  The Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting an unresponsive 6 year old boy on the beach at Yahr County Park on Orchard Valley Road  in the Town of Farmington.  The Sheriff’s Department says while deputies and rescue personnel were enroute, dispatchers were told the boy was receiving CPR, and several minutes later the boy was reported to be breathing and conscious.  The 6 year old and one of his friends were swimming and playing near the edge of the marked swimming area, when the victim went under the water twice and did not resurface.  The victim’s mother and a friend witnessed the incident and quickly realized “Something was not right,” waded into the water, brought the boy to shore and started CPR.  The boy was transported to Children’s Hospital Milwaukee.
