8-31-15 car vs. semi on hwy 23 east of fdl

An Oostburg man received what were described as life-threatening injuries in a car versus semi crash on Highway 23 east of Fond du Lac.  Rescue personnel were called to the scene at the intersection of Highway 23 and G. shortly before 5:30pm Sunday.  Sheriff’s sergeant Chris Dobyns says the driver of the car failed  to stop for a stop sign and was struck by a semi tractor.  The car driver, a 76 year old Ooostburg man was flown by helicopter to Theda Clark Regional Medical Center with what were described as life-threeatening injuries.  The driver of the semi, a 42 year old Waupaca man,  was not injured.  The crash remains under investigation.  The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office, Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol, St. Cloud Fire Department, St. Cloud First Responders, and Mt. Calvary Ambulance all responded to the scene.
