The Fond du Lac fire chief says he’s proud of the department’s new international accreditation. The department was recognized last week in Atlanta before the Commission on Fire Accreditation International. “We always are looking for benchmarks, how we stand up to a national average, and this particular accreditation is performance based,” Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary told WFDL news. O’Leary says the Department scored particularly well in the hiring and testing process and interaction with human resources. O’Leary says the accreditation process also looks at a department’s overall response time to a fire emergency.
