9-2-15 wisconsin governor-investigation

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The director of the state elections board says it’s unrealistic to think his staffers don’t have personal political views but they don’t make decisions.  Government Accountability Board Director Kevin Kennedy told reporters Tuesday that his employees are human and vote. But he and board members make the decisions and he works hard to ensure his workers’ views don’t influence those calls. Kennedy made the remarks as Republican lawmakers are planning to restructure the agency. They say the GAB has grown too partisan.  The Wall Street Journal reported in an editorial last week on emails that revealed a GAB attorney accused prosecutor Francis Schmitz of lying about whether Gov. Scott Walker was a target in a probe into his recall campaign’s coordination with outside groups.
