10-9-15 man sentenced to prison for storage facility break ins

A second man has been sentenced to prison after being convicted of burglarizing storage units in Dodge County.  At a plea and sentencing hearing Wednesday, 42 year old Robert McKenna pleaded guilty to three counts of party to the crime of burglary as a repeater.  Eight other burglary counts were dismissed and read into the record.  Dodge County Judge Joseph Sciascia sentenced McKenna to 9 years of initial confinement and 9 years of extended supervision.  He must also pay restitution.  In April, McKenna’s accomplice, 28 year old Derek Pederson of Beaver Dam, also received a prison sentence after pleading no contest to three charges of party to the crime of burglary.  In the spring and summer of 2014, the pair broke into and took items from storage units in Beaver Dam and Randolph, as well as a storage shed at the Fox Lake Golf Club, and took items from a trailer in Randolph.
