MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Cancer and heart disease continue to be the most common causes of death in Wisconsin in 2014. The state Department of Health Services reports Tuesday that 50,137 Wisconsin residents died in 2014. That is up 220 from 2013. Cancer and heart disease accounted for 45 percent of all deaths, followed by unintentional injuries, chronic lower respiratory diseases and stroke. Cancer and heart disease have been the leading causes of death for years. Of those who died in 2014, 55 percent were cremated and 40 percent were buried.
