11-25-15 fdl council approves plan to convert former catholic school buildings into residential housing

The Fond du Lac city council has approved a request for a special use permit  to convert two Catholic School buildings into apartments at their meeting Tuesday night.  City Planner JoEllyn Dahlin says  Commonwealth Development  Corporation wants to convert the historic St. Joes’ school building into 20 multi family units and the St. Mary’s School building into apartments.  ‘This is a first as far as converting a school,”  Dahlin told WFDL news.  “These are unique in that the schools will be converted strictly for residential use and then there will be two other buildings, one on each site, for some additional residential opportunity.”
