Republican state senator Rick Gudex is not running for re-election and a Republican candidate has already stepped forward.  Gudex told WFDL news a few weeks ago that he was weighing other options in the private sector and has made it official that he will not run for another term.   The chairman of the Fond du Lac County Republican party, Dan Feyen, has announced that he is a candidate for the 18th Senate District seat.  Feyen has been chairman of the Fond du Lac County Republican party since 2007 and the 6th District party since 2010.  Feyen says if he is elected he will bring conservative values to Madison to work on closing the skills gap by supporting the educational system at all levels.  Feyen says another priority is to make sure Wisconsin’s infrastructure needs are met.  The 47 year old Feyen lives in Fond du lac with his wife Lori and two children, a son who attends UW-Madison and a daughter who attends Fond du Lac High School.  Winnebago County Executive Mark Harris announced in September that he is running for the seat on the Democratic ticket.
