The Waupun police chief says two Waupun men involved in a shooting incident this week are brothers. Police chief Dale Heeringa says the shooting followed an argument between the brothers. Heeringa says the older brother shot his younger brother when he tried to smash in his front door using a pick-ax. Heeringa says a preliminary investigation indicates the 33 year old brother may have fired the gun in self-defense. Heeringa says the shooting victim is lucky to be alive. He received non life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment and later transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail. The 26 year old faces charges including endangering safety with use of a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
