The Fond du Lac Police Department’s lead detective in the Wayside tavern arson fire says he is confident the case will be solved. The February 24th fire destroyed the landmark Fond du lac restaurant and tavern on West Division Street. Last week investigators said the fire was intentionally set. Fond du Lac police detective Lee Mikulec says his department continues to follow up on leads from the public. Mikulec says he is confident the person or persons responsible will eventually be caught. A $5000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the arsonist.
