9-19-17 foxconn package-local react

A Fond du Lac Republican lawmaker says the Foxconn deal is good for the state.   Governor Scott Walker signed the nearly $3 billion economic incentive package Monday for the electronics giant.  Foxconn plans to build a massive display-screen factory in southeast Wisconsin.  The company is promising 13,000 new jobs, but Republican state reprsentative Jeremy Thiesfeldt says that will also benefit other businesses and industries in the state.  “The supply chain that is going to  be connected to this factory is just going to be immense,”  Thiesfeldt told WFDL news.  Democratic state representative Gordon Hintz of Oshkosh isn’t convinced Foxconn will deliver on its promises. “If I told you in 2005 that we had a plan to build Blackberries for the next 15 years that may have seemed like a really great opportunity except about three years in I think we would have realize, oh, we don’t need Blackberries any more.”
