Republican Jon Plumer has easily defeated his Democratic opponent in a special election for the state assembly. The Lodi businessman defeated Ann Groves Lloyd Tuesday in the special election for the 42nd Assembly district seat. The district includes several counties including Dodge and the Western portion of Fond du Lac County. During the campaign Plumer said fixing roads would be his top priority. Plumer says a record low unemployment rate shows the state legislature is doing the right things for the economy. The seat has been vacant since Republican Keith Ripp was appointed to the Walker administration in December.
