3-15-19 red cross assists fdl flood victims

The American Red Cross Wisconsin Chapter is assisting Fond du Lac flood victims with food and shelter.  Red Cross intern Wendy Rociles was helping displaced residents at the Fond du Lac County Rec Center.  “The Red Cross is providing victims of floods with support and comfort in this time of need,”  Rociles told WFDL news.  “We’re providing them with food, and shelter and bringing buses in taking them to a community center where they can stay the night.”    Rociles says the flooding is incredible given the relatively small amount of rain that fell in the area overnight.  “The day is beautiful, but the ice is melting and we have an ice jam and the river is overflowing.”   Rociles  says it is gratifying to be able to help people who otherwise would have nowhere to turn.
