The Fond du Lac city council this week will consider a resolution to delay design work on a new Lakeside Park pavilion. The resolution directs city staff to delay design work until February 15 to allow the council to evaluate alternate proposals from potential community partners related to the Lakeside Park Master Plan. Council president Brian Kolstad says if there is a new and better idea he is willing to listen. Councilmember Ben Giles asked the council at their last meeting to pause work on the pavilion project after he was approached by unnamed investors who were not happy with that plan. City officials say preparation work for the pavilion can be postponed until the middle of February without jeopardizing the 2020 construction schedule.
