11-15-19 lung cancer report

A new report shows the lung cancer survival rate in Wisconsin is improving.  The second annual report shows that while an estimate 4,150 Wisconsinites  will be diagnosed with the disease this year, more Americans than ever are surviving the disease.  Dona Wininsky with the American Lung Association in Wisconsin says lung cancer is  the number one cancer killer of women and men in the United States.  Wininsky says in Wisconsin the survival  rate is 22.3 percent. Wininsky says part of the reason that lung cancer is so deadly is because most cases are diagnosed at a later stage after the disease has spread.
