1-8-20 spring election

There will be a handful of contested races  for local office in the spring election.    Incumbents Kay Miller, Donna Richards and Ben Giles are running for re-election to the Fond du lac city council along with challenger Arletta Allen.  Council president Karyn Merkel cannot run because of term limits.  In Waupun Jay Graf is running against incumbent mayor Julie Nickel.  Three Incumbent alderpersons are running unopposed.  Mark Strand is running for re-election to the Fond du Lac School Board and incumbent  Monica Walk is not seeking re-election.   Walk is running for county board.  Richard Gedemer, who ran unsuccessfully for school board in the last election  is running again along with Ishamon Harris and Danny Mor.   Harris was a vocal supporter of artificial turf during recent debate over the issue.   Three candidates are running for two seats on the Waupun school board…incumbents, Jenny Patrykus, Dylan Weber and challenger Stephen Chene.   There are three contested races for Fond du Lac County Board.   Town of Eldorado Board chairman, Gary Miller is running against Sarah Everson in District 5,  Former supervisor Tom Dornbrook is running against Joe Koch in District 9 and  incumbent Martin Schroeder faces a challenge from Brooke Hills in District 16.  Fond du Lac County Circuit judge Dale English is running for re-election to another six  year  term.   He was first elected in 1996.
