A Waupun man has been convicted in connection with a fatal crash that occurred more than three years ago. At a hearing December 30, 60 year old James Jensen, pleaded no contest in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court to homicide by negligient operation of a motor vehicle and a misdemeanor of causing injury operating while under the influence. Other charges were dismissed and read into the record. A sentencing hearing is scheduled for March 9. Jensen was the driver of a car that collided head on with another vehicle on Highway AW near Waupun in November 2016. Twenty three year old Brock Hoekstra of Waupun was killed in the crash. He was a passenger in a car driven by his mother Debra Hoekstra of Waupun. A second passenger in the car, Austin Burckhardt of Waupun, received serious injuries in the crash. Jensen was also seriously injured.
