2-12-20 fdl city council to consider lakeside park alternative plan wednesday night

The Fond du Lac city council will consider a business leader group’s plan to  develop a portion of Lakeside Park at their meeting Wednesday night.   Under the plan Oven Island would be converted into an amphitheater, ice rink and parking lot, and a restaurant and history museum building would be built on the lighthouse peninsula.  The council will potentially consider five resolutions at their meeting.   The first resolution would postpone the current plant to replace the existing park pavilion.   All four subsequent resolutions are contingent on that resolution passing.  A second resolution commits the city to studying the feasibility of the business group’s alternative master plan.  The third resolution accepts and adopts the alternative plan.    A fourth resolution calls for rehabilitating the existing pavilion and a fifth resolution would amend the city’s CIP budget to allocate the unused balance of dollars from not replacing the pavilion for the study and implementation of selected areas of the alternative plan.
