Fond du Lac County Emergency management and first responders are reminding residents that 9-1-1 is for emergency use only. Fond du Lac Fire Chief Pete O’Leary says Do Not call 9-1-1 if you have flu-like symptoms. Emergency management director Bobbie Hicken says calling 9-1-1 for non-emergencies will put an unnecessary burden on an already strained emergency medical system. And O’Leary says don’t show up at the hospital or emergency room if you feel sick, without making an appointment. If you have flu-like symptoms call your doctor to discuss treatment options over the phone.
